At Lean Launch, we're revolutionizing business software development through our flagship 48-hour hackathon service. We're seeking a versatile Senior ML Engineer who can thrive in our unique, high-intensity environment. As a key member of our team, you'll alternate between regular development weeks and our signature hackathon sprints, where you'll help create sophisticated AI solutions from concept to deployment in just 48 hours.

Our ideal candidate is an ML generalist who can tackle any AI challenge effectively, rather than a specialist focused on a single area. You'll work across our entire spectrum of AI & data services, from building intelligent agents and RAG systems to developing predictive analytics models and recommendation engines.

Work Schedule

• Regular Weeks: Standard 5 days on, 2 days off schedule focused on internal systems development, research, and preparation for upcoming hackathons
• Hackathon Weeks: 4.5 days off followed by 2.5 days of intense development (includes 15 hours overtime pay)
• Hackathon Expectations: During the 2-day hackathon sprint, you must be 100% committed and available. While challenging, these sprints are incredibly rewarding opportunities to create something extraordinary from scratch

Responsibilities

• Design and implement diverse AI solutions during 48-hour hackathons, including:
  • AI Agents and Autonomous Systems
  • RAG, KAG, & CAG
  • LLM-based Applications
  • Real-time Analytics Systems
  • Predictive Analytics Models
  • Recommendation Engines
  • Business Intelligence Solutions
• Lead data acquisition efforts, including web scraping, data generation, and dataset curation
• Build and enhance Lean Launch's internal AI/ML infrastructure and tooling
• Research and prepare solutions for upcoming hackathons
• Develop and maintain AI-powered automation systems
• Create interactive data visualizations and analytics dashboards

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience building production ML systems
• Proven ability to work effectively under time constraints
• Strong experience with data acquisition, including web scraping and synthetic data generation
• Expertise in multiple areas of machine learning and AI development
• Experience with modern AI frameworks and cloud-based ML services
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to new challenges
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in high-intensity team environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rapid prototyping or hackathon environments
• Background in multiple AI domains (NLP, computer vision, reinforcement learning, etc.)
• Experience with LLMs and RAG system implementation
• Familiarity with AI agents and autonomous systems
• Track record of successful end-to-end ML project delivery

As a key member of our team, you'll alternate between regular development weeks and our signature hackathon sprints, where you'll help transform business ideas into polished iPhone apps in just 48 hours.

Our ideal candidate has a proven track record of building multiple iPhone apps from the ground up, with expertise in creating highly interactive user interfaces and integrating various third-party services and APIs. You should be comfortable working at all levels of the iOS stack and be able to make architectural decisions that enable rapid development without sacrificing quality.

  • Third-party API integrations

  • Authentication and security features

• Build and maintain Lean Launch's internal iOS frameworks and tooling
• Research and prepare solutions for upcoming hackathons
• Create reusable components and libraries to accelerate development
• Implement best practices for App Store submission and approval
• Optimize app performance and user experience
• Mentor team members on iOS development best practices

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional iOS development experience
• Track record of building multiple iPhone apps from scratch
• Expert knowledge of Swift and iOS frameworks
• Strong experience with UIKit and SwiftUI
• Proven ability to create highly interactive user interfaces
• Experience integrating various third-party APIs and services
• Understanding of iOS design patterns and architectural principles
• Experience with the complete iOS development lifecycle
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under time constraints

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with rapid prototyping or hackathon environments
• Knowledge of reactive programming (Combine, RxSwift)
• Experience with Core Data and other persistence solutions
• Background in implementing complex animations and transitions
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for iOS apps
